Hail Repair in Raymore, MO

Raymore's record hailstone fell twice, once in April and once in midsummer. Here is the NOAA record for Raymore and what PDR can fix.

Twice since 2010, stones of 3.0 inches have come down near Raymore, and the second time was in July. NOAA's Storm Prediction Center (SPC) logged the first on April 3, 2011, in spring, when you might expect it. The second came on July 17, 2023, within 10 miles of the city, in a month that holds just five of Raymore's reports. So a quiet month on paper still produced record hail. If you live in Raymore, that is the lesson worth keeping. Hail here does not stop when spring ends. This page walks through the numbers, the days and what paintless repair can do for your car.

Second lowest count of the 20

Raymore's total is 55 reports of hail at 1 inch or larger. They are spread over 26 days in that window. That is one of the lowest totals among the 20 metro cities. Belton, next door, is the only one lower, at 45.

A low count has two readings. Raymore may simply see less hail. It may also have fewer people sending in reports, since a storm nobody reports leaves no record. Either way, the dents on a car parked here are counted one at a time, not by the odds.

Of the 55, 19 reached golf ball size, spread over nine days. That matches Belton, Grandview and Liberty for golf ball days. Three reports reached baseball size, all of them on the two 3.0 inch days.

The latest 1 inch day was June 7, 2024. Raymore was not among the cities hit on May 19, 2025, or on September 16, 2025. That makes its recent run quieter than most of the metro.

July matched April

April 3, 2011, was Raymore's heaviest golf ball day. SPC logged 12 reports near Raymore that day, topping out at 3.0 inches. Nineteen of the 20 metro cities logged hail that day.

On July 17, 2023, three reports came in, the largest again 3.0 inches. Belton and Lee's Summit logged 3.0 inch stones that day too. A summer storm matched the worst spring day on file.

On June 27, 2013, six reports came in, topping out at golf ball size. Belton and Grandview logged six each that same day.

The most recent golf ball day is June 7, 2024. Four reports came in, topping out at 2 inches. Belton logged golf ball hail that day as well. Even February has an entry here. Two reports on February 27, 2011, topped out at golf ball size.

A window from April to July

Raymore's busiest month is April, with 16 of the 55 reports. June is second with 11. March and May hold eight each, and July five. June's total includes the golf ball days of June 27, 2013, and June 7, 2024.

Belton tilts later. June holds 18 of Belton's 45 reports, by far its busiest month. Seven of them came on June 26, 2016, when stones near Belton reached 2.5 inches. No golf ball report landed near Raymore that day.

September is blank in Raymore's file, and so is everything from November through January. February shows three, and October one.

So in Raymore, the window runs from April through July. The town puts 40 of its 55 reports in those four months. If you park outside, keep that whole stretch in mind, not just April.

Raymore along Highway 58

Raymore sits in Cass County. Highway 58 runs east and west through town and links it to Belton. Interstate 49 runs north and south just west of Raymore, through Belton. Lee's Summit lies to the northeast, and Peculiar to the south. Peculiar sits outside the 20 cities in our data, so its own hail record is not shown here.

The assessment happens where the car already sits, such as a driveway off Highway 58 or an office lot in town. Belton, about four miles west, has its own page. Grandview, to the northwest, and Lee's Summit each have one too.

At the estimate, you learn which dents PDR cannot fully fix, and everything else gets counted. You get both lists before any work begins. What PDR cannot fix gives each limit its own short entry. Hail Repair Questions in Raymore

Stone size matters more than the month. On July 17, 2023, stones near Raymore reached 3.0 inches, the same size as on April 3, 2011. A dent from either day gets judged the same way. If the paint held and the metal did not stretch, PDR is usually an option. Cracked paint, sharp creases and dents on a braced seam may not come out fully.

Not by SPC's count. Raymore was not among the 13 metro cities with hail of 1 inch or larger on May 19, 2025. It missed September 16, 2025, too, when 15 cities logged hail. The latest 1 inch day near Raymore is June 7, 2024. SPC can still revise its 2025 file, so that could change. Dents from any storm get the same assessment.

Either order can work, and your carrier may have its own preference, so ask. A free assessment gives you a dent count and a list of what PDR can and cannot fix. That can make the call to your carrier shorter and clearer. Hail is filed as comprehensive, not collision, so your carrier treats it as damage you did not cause.
